Senses Cultural, as part of its Academy of Health, is honored to announce the establishment of the Senses Cultural Scholarship Fund for Neurodevelopmental Professionals. Senses Cultural has been spreading knowledge and understanding about Middle Eastern culture since 2012, highlighting the challenges faced by women and children and advocating for healthier and more peaceful lives for families in the Middle East and beyond.
The Senses Cultural Scholarship Fund for Neurodevelopmental Professionals is designed to support the efforts of medical professionals and students, as well as others wanting to develop neurodevelopmental intervention skills, by covering costs associated with training including travel and living expenses.
The fund is focused primarily on those in Middle Eastern countries who wish to study at the UC Davis MIND Institute’s International Training Program in Neurodevelopmental Disorders (ITPND), or at other similar institutions. The fund will also help Senses Cultural continue to develop conferences and workshops for families and professionals and to assist families.
Autism, Attention-Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD), Fragile X Syndrome, Down Syndrome and other neurodevelopmental disorders causing intellectual disability and other learning and behavioral problems appear to be as prevalent in the Middle East as they are in the West. However, due to the lack of awareness, diagnosis and treatment from trained professionals in the Middle East, families often suffer in silence with no help with raising a child with special needs. Senses Cultural is committed to addressing this problem.
Middle Eastern medical institutions, schools serving children with special needs, and families who have a child with learning problems, will all benefit from better trained professionals and specialized centers for neurodevelopmental disorders. We invite you to become a part of this important and much needed change!
We ask that you consider a generous donation to Senses Cultural’s Scholarship Fund for Neurodevelopmental Professionals as a way to develop more trained specialists in the Middle East to help families in a practical and meaningful way. Please feel free to contact Tata, Senses Cultural’s founder, at tata@sensescultural.org for more details about how you can contribute to this fund or apply for a scholarship.
Full or partial financial support will be considered. Senses Cultural is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
Sincerely yours, Tata Monfared
