Each year, Senses Cultural celebrates World Autism Month in April. The month begins with World Autism Awareness Day on April 2, according to the unanimous declaration of the United Nations Generally Assembly. As a result, April is designed to mark the importance of the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities, and help improve the quality of life of those with autism who are integral parts of our societies.
We are excited to celebrate Autism Month this April, by raising awareness about autistic persons and their unique social interactions and non-standard learning experiences. At Senses Cultural, we specifically offer support to communities working on or dealing with autism.
Senses Cultural also promotes its Art for Autism projects to build awareness through the arts about the role of societies and women in dealing with autism.
This month, we urge you to consider donating to our other projects as well, including a gene therapy project that we launched with the UC Davis MIND Institute. The project funds two post-doctoral research positions at MIND to advance the knowledge about and treatments for autism. We also hold regular photography exhibits on autism, and offer prizes to photographers and artists.
The rate of autism in all parts of the world is rapidly increasing, so your support matters and is greatly appreciated. To donate to our projects, click here. We look forward to continually sharing with you our latest programs, and thank you for your support!
