Dear Senses team and supporters:

It is with great honor that we announce the addition of Dr. Javid Javidan to Senses Cultural’s Board of Directors.  Dr. Javidan has been an active and respected member of the Iranian-American community throughout Sacramento since 2003, and will be a strong guiding force while our organization continually grows.  He has an established record as a philanthropist and activist in the Sacramento community, and as an advocate for cross-cultural understanding and awareness.

Dr. Javidan is a highly skilled medical professional.  A board certified urologist with fellowship training in urological oncology, he is currently serving as the Chief of Urology for Mercy General Hospital and the Medical Director of Robotic Surgery at Mercy San Juan Medical Center.  Dr. Javidan has served as the principal of the The Avecinna Academy for the past seven years, and currently a part of its board of directors.

Dr. Javidan will be joining Senses Cultural’s Board of Directors to assist with projects that have a public health focus, and to strengthen the relationship between leaders such as himself and the Iranian-American and Middle Eastern communities nationwide.  He will sit on the Board of Directors beside founder Tata Monfared, secretary Barbara Wolf, and treasurer Joanna Durkin.

Senses Cultural is a not-for-profit organization that invests its resources to advance and empower all women through health-nurturing activities such as the arts, scholarly presentations, and conferences. We cultivate national and international networks of researchers, artists, scholars and cultural advocates.  We produce empowering activities and events that celebrate all audiences across geographic and social boundaries.

We welcome you, Dr. Javid Javidan, and are so pleased to have you joining our Board of Directors. Thank you for joining Senses Cultural.

Sincerely,

Tata
